Huge Money Fast, Without an Attorney? Don’t Trust the AI Scam
There is a new AI craze being promoted on social media where people claim they received huge amounts of money for their personal injury settlement in record-breaking time, and say they did it all without an attorney. One such ad claims it will show a “trick” that lawyers and insurance companies don’t want you to know.
Really?
Don’t be fooled by these hucksters. This concept is completely ridiculous.
- Insurance companies don’t make billions of dollars in profits by being tricked. If you were being sued, would you be tricked into paying more money than you were liable for and pay it in record-breaking time? Why would you believe insurance companies do?
- Insurance companies don’t generally pay very quickly because, as we have heard so often in the media lately, it’s in their best interest to “defend, delay, depose” before they pay.
- The payout for a crash victim’s injuries is almost always limited by the amount of insurance coverage the at-fault driver has. Most people do not have enough assets to cover the gap between their insurance coverage and what they have to pay for their crash victim’s injuries. If the crash victim seeks more from the at-fault driver than their insurance coverage, the at-fault driver can file for bankruptcy protection. A seemingly low payout for bad injuries is not the result of a bad lawyer, but the limits of the insurance available.
The “do-it-yourselfer” should be aware that the amount of your medical bills you have incurred in treating your injury must be reimbursed out of your settlement. So, if you receive a “$50,000” settlement, as one ad claims, you must reimburse your insurance company (that paid the medical bills) or pay the doctors directly with the money from your settlement check.
